HANCOCK COUNTY — Indiana State Superintendent of Schools Glenda Ritz visited several Hancock County Schools on Friday.

Ritz first went to J.B. Stephens Elementary School, where she read to students to help them celebrate Disability Awareness Month. She later visited Greenfield-Central Junior High.

McCordsville Elementary School entertained Ritz with a Shark Tank-style show conducted before the entire school. Fourth-grade students presented products Friday to a panel of judges — or sharks — including Ritz.

Ritz also visited Mt. Vernon Middle School to see a video of the eighth grade “Walk on Water” science experiment, in which students created “walking floating devices” that allow one student to walk across the pool.
