William “Bill” Arnold Lau, 87, of Greenfield, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 25, 2016, at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation – Greenfield. He was born on July 18, 1929 in Wyandotte, Mich., as the son of William and Margaret (Hoeft) Lau.

He graduated from a high school in Michigan in 1947. Bill served in the Navy during the Korean War from 1947-1952. He married Darline (Casper).

He was a sales manager at several trucking companies for over 50 years. Mr. Lau was a member of Lutheran Church of Noblesville. He liked boating. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grand-children and great-grand-children.

Bill is survived by his children, Karen S. (Dan) Holt of Greenfield, Kimberly Stanczak of Rochester, Mich., Jeffery (Lesa) Lau of Oaklandon and Stuart “Kipp” (Kathy) Lau of Louisville; brother, Robert Lau of Findley, Ohio; six grandchildren, Emily, Mahri, Drew, Kristen, Justin and Aidan and three great- grandchildren, Ava, Brady and Cade.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Margaret Lau; wife, Darline Lau; grandson, David and three sisters.

A gathering will be held from Noon until 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2016, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A celebration of life will take place immediately following the gathering at 1 p.m. Pastor Rick Francis will be officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
