Spring Mill park hosts spinning workshop
MITCHELL — Spring Mill State Park will host a spinning workshop from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on March 3.
Participants will have a chance to use the spinning wheels from the park’s pioneer village and learn to spin yarn using a drop spindle.
All supplies are provided.
The drop spindle and roving that participants use in the class will be theirs to take home. The workshop includes a buffet lunch at the inn’s Millstone dining room.
Twelve spots are available, and advance registration is required by Monday. Register by calling 812-849-4508.

Volunteers sought for Maple Syrup Festival
BROWN COUNTY – The second-annual National Maple Syrup Festival is looking for festival volunteers for March 5 and 6.
Volunteers receive free admission to the pancake breakfast, free tickets to the festival and free shuttle service to festival headquarters in the state park.

Artwork puts spotlight on domestic violence
INDIANAPOLIS – The Domestic Violence Network is calling for entries for its May exhibition, “Showing Hope,” at the art space at the Athenaeum, 401 E. Michigan Ave. Art submitted should feature a theme of the issues surrounding domestic violence as well as the hope in the face of violence.
Artists may submit up to five low resolution jpegs to [email protected]. The Domestic Violence Network requests that 50 percent of sales generated from the show be donated to support victims of domestic violence. Deadline for entries is April 1.
