Carthage food pantry leaving current location

CARTHAGE — Blue River Community Harvest will vacate its present building at 9462 N. Carthage Pike, Carthage, because the building has been sold.

In a statement, the pantry’s board of directors said the pantry offered a pair of mid February pantry dates before closing Feb. 17. The new facility in the former Tweedy Lumberyard is unfinished. Pantry hours will resume after the move is complete and “we can comfortably serve our clients,” the statement read. There will be no clothing pantries at the new facility.

“The Board regrets the inconvenience this may cause our families, but the move is daunting and will take considerable time and effort,” the statement continued.

If you can help with the move during a Feb. 27 work session, call 317-402-4089. If you would like to donate building materials, money or labor, call 317-696-0785.
