Edward L. Spitzer
Edward L. Spitzer,101, St. Charles, Ill., formerly of Indianapolis, passed away Feb. 16, 2016. He was born Dec. 6, 1914, in Indianapolis, to the late Edward A. and Minnie Hahn Spitzer.
Ed was a graduate of Cathedral High School. He was the supervisor of the maintenance division of Indianapolis Water Company for many years and loved boating, deep sea fishing and racing. He was a former member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
Ed is survived by his sons, Jim (Roberta) and Mike (Karen) Spitzer; stepsons, Kris and Kim (Kristy) Davenport; grandchildren, Sherri Blackburn (Scott), Brian Spitzer (Tracy), Tracey Anderson, David Spitzer and Bonnie Lee; great-grandchildren, Jessica, Josh, Ashley, Kayla and Cassidy and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, of 33 years, Jean Spitzer; second wife, of 26 years, Pearl Davenport-Spitzer; grandson, Dean Spitzer and two sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2016, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 7243 E. 10 St., with visitation one hour prior.
Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
