Dolores A. ‘Dee’ Wilson

Dolores A. “Dee” (DaVee) Wilson, 85, of Greenfield, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 7, 2016, at Hancock Regional Hospital Hospice. She was born on July 21, 1930, in Indianapolis, as the daughter of Maurice and Margaret A. (Snider) DaVee.

She graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic School in 1948. She attended I.U. School for book keeping while working at Assistant Title Company. Dee married George Wilson in 1950.

She moved to Greensburg in 1950 and later moved to Greenfield in 1956. She worked at the City Hall for the late Mayor Keith McClarnon for many years. Mrs. Wilson was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church and Red Hat Lady’s. She was a devoted housewife and enjoyed bird watching, writing poetry, fishing, pets and football. Dee loved sharing her time with her family and friends.

Dee is survived by her children, David (Darlene) Wilson of Greenfield, Mark (Becky) Wilson of Greenfield, Marcia (Rex) Dishon of Fortville and Debby (Steve) Brooks of Charlottesville; 10 grandchildren and 9 great- grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Maurice and Margaret A. (Snider) DaVee; husband, George Wilson; brother, Eugene DaVee; son, Michael Wilson; grandson, Lee Smith; and granddaughter, Miranda Hall.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2016, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A Mass of Christian burial will be heldat 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 11, 2016, at St. Michaels Catholic Church, 519 Jefferson Blvd, Greenfield, IN 46140. Father Stephen Banet will be officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery on Troy Avenue in Indianapolis.
