Hello, my name is Chance Middleton. I am part of Boy Scout Troop 244. My troop meets at the New Palestine Lions Club. I am writing to you because I am trying to raise awareness for Scouting Sunday.
Scouting Sunday began in England on Feb. 8, 1910. It was added as a Boy Scout celebration in the 1940s. This year, Scouting Sunday is on Feb. 7.
The Boy Scout Law says a Boy Scout is reverent. All Scouts show this by doing their duty to God. Many of our Scouts go to church. Some churches have special Scouting Sunday services that involve the Scouts.
All Scouts are encouraged to wear Class A uniforms on this special day.
