Hoosier National Forest sets photo competition

BEDFORD — The Hoosier National Forest is sponsoring a year-long photo competition of photos taken in the Hoosier National Forest during all seasons of the year. Photographers may email their photos to Stacy Duke at [email protected].

Winners will be selected quarterly to win a gift certificate to the Hoosier National Forest nature store. The Hoosier National Forest will display photos on social media, websites and in National Forest offices and buildings. Grab your camera or smartphone and visit the Hoosier National Forest to capture a few great shots.

Create artwork from sheet music at library

GREENFIELD – Teens are invited to create artwork using recycled sheet music, canvas and paint at 4 p.m. Feb. 4 at the Hancock County Public Library, 900 W. McKenzie Road.

Footlite conducting auditions for ‘Gypsy’

INDIANAPOLIS — Footlite Musicals, 1847 N. Alabama St., is conducting auditions for “Gypsy,” the story of ultimate stage mother Rose Hovick, who pushes her two daughters toward fame and fortune in the 1920s and 1930s just as burlesque is coming into vogue.

The show, directed by Tim Spradlin, includes songs such as “Let Me Entertain You,” “If Momma Were Married,” “Everything’s Coming Up Roses” and “Together Wherever We Go.”

Auditions will be conducted Sunday and Tuesday. Roles are available for adults, teens and children age 7 and 12.
