Ralph E. Scroggins, 87, of Greenfield, passed away Friday, Jan. 22, 2016, at Hancock Regional Hospital.  He was born on Oct. 28, 1928, in Aurora, Ill., as the son of Ralph and Kathryn (Bookman) Scroggins.

Ralph graduated from Somonauk High School in Somonauk, Ill. He married Beverly (Hupach) on September 20, 1952.

Ralph worked as an Engineer and finished his career as a Sales Engineer for Tower Oil and Technology Company in Chicago, from 1976-2002 before retiring. He was a member of Carnelian Masonic Lodge No. 40 of Lake City, Minn.

He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend.  He enjoyed woodworking and was a very active member of First Presbyterian Church in Greenfield.  He loved spending time with his grandchildren and was passionate about sports, especially those sports involving his grandchildren.

He is survived by his sons, Jeff (Lisa) Scroggins and Scott (Cori) Scroggins both of Greenfield; daughter, Jennifer (Rich) Rosemeyer of Greenfield; sister, Norma Anderson of Somonauk, Ill.; 10 grandchildren, Joshuwin, Jerricho, Alisha, Asia, Logan, Luke, Emma, Mitchell, Grace and Trent and five great- grandchildren, Darian, Gavin, Jacob, Devon and Elliot.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly; parents, Ralph and Kathryn Scroggins and grandson, Logan Scroggins.

Visitation will be held  from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2016, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 28, 2016, also at the mortuary. Pastor John Paulson will be officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
