Kids admitted free for performances

INDIANAPOLIS — The Young Actors Theatre, located at the Athenaeum, 401 E. Michigan St., is offering a series of fairytale plays Thursday through Sunday that are free for children 18 and under. The performance schedule includes:

“Hansel and Gretel” — 7 p.m., Thursday, 3 p.m. Saturday

“Sleeping Beauty” — 1 p.m. Saturday

“Rapunzel” — 6 p.m. Friday, 6 p.m. Saturday

“Snow White” — 8 p.m. Saturday

“The Snow Queen” — 8 p.m. Friday, 2 p.m. Sunday

Vonnegut Library hosts block party

INDIANAPOLIS — The Vonnegut Library, named for author Kurt Vonnegut, is celebrating its fifth anniversary with a block party from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Athenaeum, 407 E. Michigan St. Participants are invited to digitize Vonnegut letters, write a note to a representative about a cause you believe in or even play table tennis.
