Terry E. Bruner

Terry E. Bruner, 72, of Greenfield, passed away Sunday, Jan. 10, 2016, in Greenfield.

He was born March 22, 1943, in Greenfield, to the late Oren J. Bruner and Martha (Elliott) Murphy.

Terry was a graduate of Greenfield-Central High School and was proud of his acceptance into the National Honor Society. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era where he was assigned to Army security through the National Security Agency.

He married Linda M. (Tutrow) Bruner on Dec. 3, 1966. Together they made their home and were lifelong residents of Greenfield. Terry was active in community theater for 25 years, a member of the American Legion, VFW and a longtime volunteer for Hancock Regional Hospital. Prior to his retirement in 1999, Terry was a firefighter and millwright for General Motors at the Allison’s location and was security coordinator for the 10th Pan Am Games in Indianapolis.

He is survived by his wife, Linda of Greenfield; sons, Chad Bruner of Morristown and Todd Bruner of Shelbyville; daughter, Linda K. Bruner of Greenfield; sisters, Linda Rowe of Colorado and Marty Murphy and Robin Felkins, both of Indianapolis; and three grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.

Friends may call 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel, 1780 W. Main St., Greenfield. Services will follow at 1 p.m.

Burial with military graveside rites will be at Park Cemetery immediately following the service.
