Youth, young adults slated to gather

MOHAWK — The Youth and Young Adult Connection is set for 11:30 a.m. to around 2 p.m. Sunday at Mohawk United Methodist Church.

It features a pizza lunch and time for playing games and cards.

Youth from sixth grade through high school, as well as adults of college age through 30-something, are invited and can bring friends. A nursery will be available for babies and young children.

Harvest Church in Mt. Comfort expanding

MT. COMFORT — Harvest Church will have an open house from 3 to 6 p.m. Jan. 9 in the church’s newly expanded facility, 6107 W. Airport Blvd. It will feature food, tours and the opportunity to meet the church’s leadership team.

GREENFIELD — Habitat for Humanity is moving forward with a plan to build a house in 2016 for a local family in Greenfield. A breakfast meeting has been scheduled 7:30 a.m. Jan. 22 (doors open at 7:15) at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore, 1141 W. U.S. 40.

Breakfast to raise money for missions

EDEN — Breakfast will be served from 7 to 10 a.m. today at Eden United Methodist Church. Donations will be accepted to benefit local and global mission work.

Anchorsaway helps young adults’ faith

GREENFIELD — High school juniors and seniors and college students can go to Anchorsaway, a Christian worldview educational experience. It will start meeting from 3 to 5:30 p.m. Sundays, starting Sunday, at 223 W. Stoney Trail.

It’s designed to encourage each student’s biblical understanding and spiritual growth so that they will confidently live out their faith in every area of life. Students will be prepared to give an answer to others about what they believe to be true about the God of the Bible. A handbook and notes include recommended book reading for each session.

Each session features a different topic.

The handbook costs $35.

Dinner to raise money for Love INC

GREENFIELD — Love INC (In the Name of Christ) of Greater Hancock County is making plans for the second annual “Love Thy Neighbor” dinner, set for Feb. 13 at Adaggios.

Love INC engages Christians to help meet community needs by mobilizing local churches with the goal of transforming lives and communities in the name of Christ.

It works to build lasting community and church relationships, manage a database of volunteers, and coordinate all the church ministries to transform the lives of Hancock County residents. Supporter sustain the staff, facility and equipment necessary.
