Connie M. Brown

Connie M. (Marling) Brown, 83, of Elyria, Ohio, died Dec. 23, 2015, at her daughter’s home in New Palestine. She was born Jan. 6, 1932, in Bellaire, Ohio.

Connie was a lifetime educator and advocate for children through her career and volunteer work. She was a 1949 Bellaire high school graduate, received her BS in education from OSU 1953, her MS in education, and a 6 year education specialist degree from KSU.

Surviving are two children, Mark (Gail) Brown of Elyria and Jodi (Ali) Basaran of New Palestine; sister, Marilyn (Bob) Kopyar of Bellaire; brothers, Richard (Shirley) Marling of Dublin and Gilbert (Beth) Marling of Lorain; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Jan. 16, 2016, in the chapel of the Elyria First United Methodist Church, located at 312 Third St. Elyria, Ohio. A grave site service for her family will follow at 1 p.m. on January 17, 2016, at New Greenwood Cemetery in Bellaire, Ohio.
