Ricks-Weil Theatre Co. auditions for “The Diary of Anne Frank”

GREENFIELD — The Ricks-Weil Theatre Co. will conduct auditions for “The Diary of Anne Frank” from 5 to 8 p.m. Jan. 10 and 7 to 9 p.m. January 11 at the H.J. Centre for the Arts, 122 W. Main St. Director Kathy Hoefgen is looking to fill the following roles (ages are approximate):

Otto Frank: Male, age 40 to 60

Edith Frank: Female, age 30 to 50

Margot Frank: Female, age 15 to 18

Anne Frank: Female, age 13 to 16

Hermann van Daan: Male, 40 to 60

Petronella van Daan: Female, 30 to 50

Peter van Daan: Male, age 15 to 18

Albert Dussel: Male, age 40 to 60

Miep Gies: Female, age 25 to 35

Mr. Kraler: Male, age 30 to 50

Three men, age 16 to 50

All auditioners should prepare a two- to three-minute age-appropriate monologue for their audition and be prepared to read from the script. Rehearsals begin Jan. 18. Performance dates are March 4, 5, 11, 12 and 13. For more information, email Hoefgen at [email protected].

KidsPlay holding auditions for spring show

GREENFIELD — KidsPlay Inc. children’s theater will hold auditions for its spring production of “Mission: Possible!” by Craig Sodaro from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Jan. 12 and 14. Director Corey Yeaman is looking for girls and boys in the third through eighth grades to fill approximately 22 speaking parts and 12 openings for dancers.

Performance dates are April 22 to 24. Auditioners have the opportunity to attend an audition workshop from 6 to 8 p.m. Jan. 7 to learn audition techniques and best practices, but it is not required to audition. Workshop registration is $5. The workshop and auditions will be held on the lower level of the Memorial Building at 98 E. North Street in Greenfield.
