Crafters, garage salers, more sought for indoor sale

GREENFIELD — Calling all crafters, rummage salers, small businesses and flea marketers: Table space is available for Arts & Rummage, a new indoor sale set for Jan. 16 at the Hancock County 4-H Fairgrounds, 620 N. Apple. Rental space is $40 per table with $20 for an extra table.

Children’s theater offers audition workshop

GREENFIELD — KidsPlay Inc. children’s theater will present an audition workshop for children in Grades 3 through 8 from 6 to 8 p.m. Jan. 7 at the KidsPlay Dungeon, 98 E. North St. The workshop will focus on self-confidence, stage presence, character development and presentation. In addition to audition tips and techniques, attendees will have a chance to review the script for the next KidsPlay production and meet the director. An enrollment fee of $5 is due at the door. Hoosier first lady announces Hoosier Heroine essay contest

GREENFIELD — Indiana’s first lady Karen Pence announces the 2016 Hoosier Heroines Essay contest for students in the fifth through ninth grades. This annual competition celebrates Women’s History Month in March. Each grade level has an area of focus, and participants should choose a woman from that field: fifth grade — agriculture; sixth grade — suffrage; seventh grade — business; eighth grade — science; ninth grade — education.
