Jean A. Dunn, 90, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 13, 2015, at Hancock Regional Hospital. She was born in Portland on Sept. 26, 1925, the daughter of Clarence O. “Cheese”and Mary Josephine (Hirons) Limbert. She was a graduated from Burris Laboratory School and later attended Ball State Teachers College.
Jean devoted her life to making a home for her family. Along with her husband, she owned and operated six Ponderosa Steakhouses.
She loved gardening, decorating and shopping. Jean was also very dedicated to her family and she always attended her children and grandchildren’s events.
Survivors include her husband, of 68 years, Kenneth Dunn; her children, Shauna McClure (husband, Daniel) of Greenfield and Mark Dunn of Mason, Ohio; her grandchildren, Mindy Whiteside (Sean), Lindsay McClure, Kristen McClure (Craig Gratton), Nick Galliher (Jennifer) and John Galliher (Amy); also surviving are her great- grandchildren, Marnie and Carter Abram, Nolan Gratton and a baby girl arriving on December 23.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Family and friends may call from 12:30 until 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2015, at the mortuary. Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2015, at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington St Chapel. Private burial will follow at a later date in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, north of Muncie.
