Riley Home tours free for holiday festivities

GREENFIELD — The Riley Home and Museum, 250 W. Main St., will be open for free tours as part of the holiday festivities during the Christmas carriage rides from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday. Tours last about an hour and 15 minutes.

Library to offer sonic screwdriver workshop

GREENFIELD — Teens in sixth grade through age 19 are invited to make a sonic screwdriver, based on the prop in the “Doctor Who” TV series, from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at Hancock County Public Library, 900 W. McKenzie Road.

With a few office supplies and LEDs, participants can assemble a multifunction tool with a working light. Register at hcplibrary.org or call 462-5141, ext. 238.

Meet authors at library signing event

GREENFIELD — Local writers will meet the public and sign copies of their books from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Hancock County Public Library, 900 W. McKenzie Road.

Participating authors include writers of fiction, nonfiction and local history.

This event is co-sponsored by the Hancock County Historical Society.

Butler music school plans free concert

INDIANAPOLIS — Butler University choirs and the Symphonic Wind Ensemble join together to present “Merry and Bright: Holiday Music with the Butler University School of Music” at 3 and 7 p.m. Sunday at the Howard L. Schrott Center for the Arts, 610 W. 46th St. on the Butler University campus.

Admission is free, but tickets are required.

They are available at the Clowes Memorial Hall box office during regular business hours and at the Schrott Center beginning two hours before each performance.
