New Palestine to be honored with award
NEW PALESTINE — The New Palestine Main Street blue star banner program has been selected for a community impact award by state officials.
Lt. Gov. Sue Ellspermann will recognize award winners during a ceremony Monday at the Statehouse.
New Palestine Main Street partnered with the town of New Palestine and American Legion Post 182 to adopt a military recognition banner program to honor and respect the local men and women serving the country by displaying a personalized street banner on light poles along Main Street.
The blue star banners hang from newly installed light posts in town and include the name, rank and service branch of each active-duty service member.
