Weihnachtsmarkt Celebration slated

CUMBERLAND — The town of Cumberland will host its fifth annual Cumberland Weihnachtsmarkt Celebration from 3 to 10 p.m. Saturday at Waburn Pocket Park on East Washington Street in downtown Cumberland.

One event designed to attract youngsters is the St. Nicolas house on Main Street. It will give patrons the chance to meet both Mr. and Mrs. Claus. There also will be a children’s tent with games and activities, and kids will be able to write letters to Santa.

Silly Safari will bring live reindeer accompanied by Santa’s elves to the main event tent from 3 to 6 p.m. There will be food trucks, a beer garden and a tree-lighting ceremony at 6 p.m. There also will be live music, including The Flying Toasters, who will perform from 7 to 10 p.m.
