Ruth Campau, 88, died on Nov. 28, 2015. She was born in Plattsmouth, Neb., on Dec. 27, 1926. She married Edward Campau in 1951 in Renton, Washington.

She attended the University of Chicago and Indiana University extension in Hammond, moving to Greenfield, in 1958.

Ruth was a reporter for the Greenfield Daily Reporter, an employee of Marsh Supermarkets where she took care of the houseplants for sale and a freelance writer for several national magazines.

Her greatest satisfaction was in being a homemaker for her husband and children Vineta and Dale. Ruth enjoyed nature particularly wild birds, the woods, and gardens.

She is survived by her children, Vineta and Dale and her dear son-in-law, Jeff.

Her husband; two brothers and a sister preceded her in death.

Her children would like to extend a heartfelt and special thanks to her neighbors and friends who were very kind and helpful to her.  In addition, we would like to express our appreciation to Hancock County Hospice and Ellison House for their wonderful care and assistance.

In honoring her wishes, there will be no service. Also, in accordance with her instructions, her body will be donated to the Indiana University School of Medicine.
