Russell Alan Barr, 45, of Fortville, passed away in his home on Monday, Nov. 23, 2015, following an extended illness. He was born on Oct. 21, 1970, in Greenfield, to Joseph and Lois (Brown) Barr.
Russell worked for Burgess Mechanical in Indianapolis where he installed and repaired boilers. He was a loving father who enjoyed spending time with his family. He had a passion for “anything with wheels and a motor” – especially remote controlled cars and trucks. He was an avid fan of NASCAR and enjoyed many hours playing video games.
Russell is survived by his wife, of 19 years, Regina (Risk) Barr; one son, Alan Barr, Jr. of Fortville; one daughter, Renee Ashley Barr of Fortville; one brother, Orley (Carla Wise) Barr of Fortville; one sister, Tina (Ricky) Fanning of Avon; one granddaughter, Lilee Ann Barr of Fortville and one cousin, Joe Brown of Beech Grove. Also surviving are many loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Joseph (Alex) Hicks, who was like a “second son” to him also survives.
Russell was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Stephen Barr.
Visitation will be held at from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 29, 2015, Daybreak Community Church (1219 Main Street, Lapel, IN). Cremation will follow.
