Keen Pruitt, 85, of Cumberland, died on Thursday, Nov. 19, 2015. He was born on April 18, 1930, as the son of John R. and Virgie (Weaver) Pruitt. He served in the U.S. Navy. Keen married Charlene Pruitt on May 15, 1987, in Louisville, Ky.
Keen is survived by his wife, Charlene Pruitt; eight daughters, Connie J. Bernard, Belinda Kiskaden, Vivian Zigler, Beverly White, Debbie Fetzer, Connie S. Bowman, Jeannie Franklin and Sandi Carney; brother, Red Pruitt; sister, Elma G. Reynolds; 27 grandchildren; 40 great- grandchildren and five great- great- grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Virgie Pruitt; daughters, Sharon Wildrick and Ambershell Kelley; son, Robert Jay Pruitt; brother, Charles Pruitt and sister, Francis Long.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 23, 2015, at Cumberland Christian Church, 39 N. Starter Street, Indianapolis, IN 46229. A funeral service will take place immediately following the visitation at 1 p.m. Pastor Tom Scott and Greg Bowman will be officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Indianapolis, with military rites presented by the U.S. Navy.
