GREENFIELD — The Creative Arts and Event Center has always been a Greenfield hot spot, but this week, event organizers are pulling out all the stops for a Wine, Art & Jam Fest.

The event, sponsored by Greenfield Liquors, features wine, hors d’oeuvres, music and more starting at 6 p.m. Friday at the event center, 2 W. Main St.

“This event is actually a celebration of Greenfield Liquors’ fourth year of wine-tasting and a thank-you to all the loyal customers for all the times they’ve come to events here and supported the Creative Arts and Event Center,” said Bob Hunt, owner of the Creative Arts and Event Center.

Nine businesses are collaborating, including the Artists Upstairs, Cross Creative Media, Greenfield Liquors, Kelly D. Photography, the Red Banana, Rhythms by Stacey, SoupHerb and Tonya Photography.

The evening begins at 6 p.m. in the window gallery with wine-tasting of seven wines provided by Greenfield Liquors, as well as appetizers, desserts and live music with Brent and Sara from the Fingertrip jazz group that will continue until 8 p.m. From 8:30 to 10 p.m., the Fingertrip duo will begin its second set, and the building opens up for anyone to enjoy the music, art and a cash bar featuring craft beers.

On the third floor, from 6:30 to 9 p.m., Rhythms by Stacey will host a dance featuring musical choices from today’s top 40 to ballroom classics.

Ticketed events for the Wine, Art & Jam Fest include the 6 to 8 p.m. wine-tasting for $20 and dancing on the third floor with Rhythms by Stacey, also for $20. Reservations for the wine-tasting can be made at [email protected]. Reservations for the dance can be made at [email protected].

The evening also offers a number of free events. The Artists Upstairs studios will be open to visitors with a number of art demonstrations, art and photography on display. Attendees can register for door prizes donated by businesses in the building including a wine and cheese basket from the Creative Arts and Event Center, a gift basket from Red Banana and dance and exercise class gift certificates from Rhythms by Stacey.

Tammy McKnight, owner of the Red Banana, said she is excited about the upcoming evening. She plans to open her store, located inside the Creative Arts and Events Center, for extended hours and will be offering special orders for custom gifts.

McKnight also is putting together a digital scavenger hunt, during which participants will be challenged to seek out different locations throughout the building and take photos of them.
