Lue Ann (Marlin) Phares, 62, of McCordsville, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2015, at Hancock Regional Hospice. She was born on July 13, 1953, in Indianapolis, as the daughter of Robert B. and Beverly A. (Folkening) Marlin.
She graduated from Franklin Central in 1971 and earned her associates from Indiana School of Business. Lue Ann married Gerald Phares on Aug. 11, 1973, in Indianapolis.
She was a lifelong farmer and a member of the Mohawk United Methodist Church. Mrs. Phares was a 4-H Leader in Hancock County for 4-H Friends 4-Ever and was a past library assistant and an assistant wrestling coach at Mt. Vernon High School.
She was active in the church where she was a Sunday school teacher, youth group leader and assisted with bible school. Lue Ann enjoyed Tuesday night card club and loved to travel. She loved going to all of her grandkids activities, farming with her husband and being a part of the action.
Lue Ann is survived by her husband, Gerald Phares of McCordsville; daughters, Kelly (Ben) Ellert of Brownsburg, Ind., Beth (Mike) Deutsch of Greenfield and Katie (Dan) Hooker of McCordsville; three grandchildren, Tyler, Tori and Loralye Deutsch; brothers, Bob (Patty) Marlin, Bill Marlin and John (Theresa) Marlin and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert B. and Beverly A. Marlin.
Visitation will be held from 1-6 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 15, 2015, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 16, 2015, also at the mortuary. Reverend Woody Thompson and Reverend Russ Abel will be officiating. Burial will follow at New Palestine Cemetery in New Palestine.
