Janice L. Wells, 72, of Knightstown, passed away Saturday, Nov. 7, 2015 at Ambassador Healthcare in Centerville. She was born Oct. 26, 1943, at Camp Atterbury, Ind., a daughter of John and Helen (Hotalski) Taylor.
Janice had been employed at New Castle High School cafeteria and Castle Liquor Store in New Castle. She had also been employed at Robert Haynes Construction as a hog farm manager and had worked as a waitress in various restaurants. Janice was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in New Castle. She loved playing BINGO, shopping at Goodwill, bowling, fishing, cooking, gardening and spending time with her family, especially playing games with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Daniel Wells, whom she married July 24, 1982; two daughters, Mindy Perkins of Plainfield and Debi (Don) Bledsoe of Markleville; a son, Larry McBee of Frankfort; four grandchildren, Kylie McBride (companion, Roger LaForce, Jr.) of New Castle, Amanda (Josh) Goodman of Fort Drum, N.Y., Aaron Hart of Franklin, and Alec Hart of Speedway; great- grandchildren, Miracle and Breona LaForce, Nevaeh, Navan and Nekhi Goodman; two sisters, Deana (Sean) Jarrel of Frankfort, Tina (Clarence) Stoddard of Frankfort; two aunts, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a great- grandson, Niahm Goodman and a sister, Bobbi Trueadu.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m.Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2015. Services will be at 11 a.m.Thursday, Nov. 12, 2015, at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel with Reverend Gene Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery.
