Ethel “Ernestine” Belcher, 88, of Greenfield, passed away Nov. 6, 2015, at the Kindred Healthcare, Greenfield, Ind. She was born on Aug. 20, 1927, in Big Stone Gap, Va.

She formerly worked at John Marshall High School, where she worked in the cafeteria. She enjoyed gardening and taking care of her pets.

Ethel “Ernestine” is survived by her daughter, Theresa (Randy) Belcher of Willow Branch; son, John (Karen) Belcher of Fortville; daughter, Martha (Ed) Sexton of Greenfield; son, David (Robin) Belcher of Fortville; son, Phil (Linda) Belcher of Greenfield; several grandchildren, great- grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by husband, Prentiss Belcher; father, John Burke; mother, Della Burke; son, Billy Belcher; six brothers, Ernest Burke, Eugene Burke, Kenneth Burke, Creed Burke, Lucian Burke and Vernoy Burke; four sisters, Eva George, Sally Carey, Musetta Bledsoe and Juanita Egan; five beloved pets, King, Penny, Yukon, Angel, and Brownie.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, 2015, at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 W 53rd St. Anderson, Ind. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13, 2015, at the funeral home with Pastor Bob Hargis officiating. Burial will take place in Oaklawn Cemetery, Fishers.
