HANCOCK COUNTY — Hancock County sheriff’s deputies arrested Fortville native Jordan Stafford late Thursday after a grand jury decided the 23-year-old should be held responsible for the death of two construction workers.

A Marion County grand jury issued an indictment this week for Stafford, charging him with four Class C felonies, including two counts of reckless operation in a highway work zone and two counts of failure to obey a traffic control device, according to a news release from the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office.

The charges stem from a car accident in 2014 that killed two construction workers. Stafford was the driver.

A warrant was issued in Marion County of Stafford’s arrest. He was taken into custody by the sheriff’s department and was being held in the Hancock County Jail Friday awaiting transfer to the Marion County Jail.
