Patricia (Orr) Allemeier, 79, of Greenfield, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2015, at Hancock Regional Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born on Nov. 23, 1935, in Chillicothe, Ohio, as the daughter of Paul Everett and Mary Evelyn (Putnam) Orr.

She graduated from Frankfort High School in Frankfort, OH in 1953. Patricia received her Nursing Diploma from Miami Valley Hospital School of Nursing in 1956. Patricia married Paul Gene Allemeier on March 21, 1959, in Findlay, Ohio.

She worked for Hancock Memorial Hospital as an ER Nurse from 1967-1981. She also worked as a nurse in Terre Haute, Salem, Ind. and Bedford, Ind. Patricia was a member of Trinity Park United Methodist Church and enjoyed volunteering at the Kenneth Butler Memorial Soup Kitchen. She was an avid reader, history and political buff and a correspondent with family and friends. She also enjoyed volunteering at the food pantries and hospitals in Greenfield, Terre Haute and Salem.

Patricia is survived by her loving husband, Paul G. Allemeier of Greenfield; four sons, Paul Daniel Allemeier of Pittsburg, Pa., John David (Lora) Allemeier of Amherst, N.H., Steven Andrew (Rosemarie) Allemeier of Sheridan, Ind. and Philip Lee (Susan) Allemeier of Indianapolis; brother, David P. (Sharon) Orr of Duncansville, Pa.; seven grandchildren, Brian, Katherine, Jennifer, David, Thomas, Abigail and Tyler; as well as her sponsored family from Laos.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul E. and Mary (Tooie) E. Orr.

A memorial gathering will be held from 2-3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 8, 2015, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A memorial service will take place immediately following the gathering at 3 p.m. Inurnment will take place at a later date a Park Cemetery in Greenfield.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent directly to the Salvation Army, 10 West Algonquin Road, Des Plaines, IL 60016 or Trinity Park United Methodist Church, 207 West Park Avenue, Greenfield, IN 46140. Envelopes will be available at the mortuary.
