George E. Willman, 84, of Carmel, departed this life Sunday, Nov. 1, 2015, in Indianapolis. He was born March 19, 1931, at his family farm in Hartford City, Ind., to the late George Adam and Nellie (Leech) Willman.

He served his country in the Army as a First Lieutenant in an artillery unit.

George earned his bachelor’s of science degree at Purdue University. He worked for International Harvester as an overseas service manager for over 40 years. Throughout his life, he enjoyed tending to chores at the family farm. He especially enjoyed having his grandchildren come to the farm to learn and have fun. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandpa.  George was very active with his church family as well, at New Joy Lutheran Church in Westfield.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Mary (Seifert) Willman; children, Mark (Karen Gail) Willman, Marinelle (Joseph) Ford and Dan (Melissa Ann) Willman; nine grandchildren; sister-in-law, Kathleen Ellis; brothers-in-law, Bernard (Dee) Seifert, John (Darlene) Seifert and Mike Seifert. George was preceded in death by his grandson, Joey Ford; brothers, Don and Earl Willman and in-laws, Carolyn (Rex) McKeeman, Joe (Mardenna) Seifert, Rex  Ellis, and Ann (Don) Breunig.

Visitation for George will be from 4 – 8 p.m. on Thursday,    Nov. 5, 2015, at Feeney-Hornak Keystone Mortuary in Indianapolis. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 6, 2015, at the mortuary, followed by interment at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the St. Vincent Foundation or to New Joy Lutheran Church.
