Jerry D. Shaw, 72, of Greenfield, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2015, at his residence. He was born Jan. 16, 1943, in Tailholt, now known as, Finley. Jerry is the son of Charles and Eva C. (Dick) Shaw. On Sept. 17, 1991, he married Vera Nancy Howell-Shaw who preceded him in death on Nov. 28, 2013.

Jerry was a 1961 graduate of New Palestine High School.

Jerry was an Army veteran, stationed in Germany, while serving in the Vietnam War.

Jerry worked at Harvester, as a millright and journeyman. Later he, owned Shaw Tree Service, from which he retired. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and a past member of the American Legion and the Forty & Eight. He was also a member of DeMolay.

Jerry is survived by his mother of Shelbyville; son, Justin (Amy Judah) Shaw of Greenfield; daughter, Eva (Gary) Turner of Morristown; four sisters; two brothers; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Jerry was also preceded in death by his father.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, 2015, at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Frazier Chapel 124 East North St., Morristown.

Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home, with Pastor Kenny Grimes officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the local military committee.
