Billy Wayne “Link” Lingenfelter, 80, of Greenfield, passed away peacefully on Oct. 22, 2015, at his home. He was born in Shelby County, to the late Edgar Minnis and Minnie May (Theobald) Lingenfelter.

Billy retired from G.E. Wellman after 42 years. He was a farmer at heart and enjoyed working on the farm with his father.

Billy was a member of Old Union Methodist Church and Fountaintown Christian Church. Above all, Billy loved his savior and Lord, Jesus Christ.

He enjoyed archeology and had a deep interest in hunting Indian artifcats and fossils. Billy also found pleasure in the outdoors hunting and fishing. He was an avid Nascar fan and enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports. Billy was multi- talented building several homes from the ground up.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Cathy (Milner-Fox) Lingenfelter; sister, Mary (Dean) Runion; children, Dennis (Loryann) Lingenfelter of Ala., Terrie (Mike) McAhren of Shelbyville, Cathy (Tim) Davis of Lebanon and Michele (Mark) Frost of Shelbyville; step-children, Timothy (Kori Reintjes) Fox, Traci (Ryan) Beaverson, David Miller, Victor Miller, Sandra (Miller) Lagasse and Steven Miller; mother-in-law, Nancy Milner of Greenfield. He had 18 grandchildren and seven great- grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by sisters, Susie McCoy and Donna Wilhelm.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 26, 2015, at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home, with Fred Girdwood officiating. Interment will be at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Billy Lingenfelter Memorial Fund, in care of the funeral home.
