The Hancock County Health Department inspects restaurants four times annually, and violations are determined as “C” for critical, “NC” for noncritical and “R” for repeated violations. The following inspections are based on information obtained from Retail Food Inspection Reports.

Aug. 31

Popeye’s Louisiana Kitchen

Location: 1973 N. State St., Greenfield

Type of inspection: Routine

Violations: C — need to have food handler certification in store, 30 days; C — need to have health policy in store, 30 days; NC— ice scoop cannot be stored on ice machine, must be protected in a clean location, 30 days; C — containers stored in “clean container area” have residue on them, food contact surfaces need to be clean to sight and touch, place knife on magnetic strip, 30 days; post permit in view.

Sept. 1

AVI Food Systems

Location: 1300 W. Anderson Drive, Greenfield

Type of inspection: Routine

Violations: C — employee seen handling soiled dishes and then handling clean dishes (must wash hands after handling soiled dishes and before handling clean dishes), corrected; NC — single-service articles that are intended for lip contact shall be furnished for consumer self service with original wrapper intact or from an approved dispenser (cups in customer area for the coffee, soft drinks and condiments), corrected.
