Lucinda ‘Lucy’ (Blackburn) Worland

Lucinda “Lucy” (Blackburn) Worland, 77, of Pendleton, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 18, 2015, at her residence. She was born on Jan. 28, 1938, in Madison, Ind., as the daughter of Nelson M. and Eva Jane (Knapp) Blackburn.

She graduated from Greenfield High School in 1956. Mrs. Worland attended Ball State University. She married E. Max Worland on Nov. 14, 1958, in Greenfield.

Lucy worked in banking for many years with Hancock Bank and Trust and National City Bank. She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church where she served on St. Michael’s Ladies Club, St. Michael’s Bereavement Dinner Committee and various bible studies within the church.

She is survived by her sons, Max (Elaine) Worland, Jr. of Richmond, Ind. and Greg (Tammi) Worland of Pendleton; four grandchildren, Joe, Angela, Zack and Gena and four great- grandchildren, Emily, Ben, Elijah and Jaiden.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, E. Max Worland; parents, Nelson M. and Eva Jane (Knapp) Blackburn; sister, Phyllis Blackburn and grandson, Matthew Worland.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2015, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 22, 2015, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 519 Jefferson Blvd., Greenfield, Indiana 46140. Burial will follow at Mendon Cemetery in Pendleton.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 519 Jefferson Blvd., Greenfield, Indiana 46140 or envelopes will be available at the mortuary.
