Greenfield man injured in one-car accident

GREENWOOD — A Greenfield man involved in an accident in Greenwood on Wednesday was seen slumped over the steering wheel of his car moments before the crash.

The man’s car veered off Main Street near Monticello Drive around 1:30 p.m., according to police reports.

The car hit a large rock and a tree before it crashed into a shed, Greenwood Fire Chief James Sipes said.

When medics arrived, the driver was unconscious, Sipes said. Firefighters removed the man from the car through the back of the vehicle, he said.

The man was taken to Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. His condition was not available Wednesday. His name was not released.
