Greenfield resident Hannah Edwards, daughter of Ken and Karen Edwards, attended the Hoosier Girls State program June 21 to 27, on the campus of Trine University in Angola.
The program, sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary, is designed to educate a select group of young women in the duties, privileges, rights and responsibilities of citizenship. The program is nonpartisan and nonpolitical. In receiving instructions on how the political system works and how government functions, students become prepared to be future civic and government leaders.
Edwards served as party state vice chairwoman and Buyer city mayor.
