Robert D. “Bob” Smith, 59, of Greenfield, passed away Saturday, Oct. 3, 2015. He was born on Nov. 15, 1955, in Greensburg, as the son of Charles and Lila (May) Smith. He graduated from Greensburg High School in 1974 and married Sandy (Rozzell) on June 11, 2005.
Bob worked for International Union of Operating Engineers (I.U.O.E.) Local 103 of Indianapolis as well as Smith’s Implements in Greenfield.
He enjoyed hunting and loved fixing anything that was in need of repair, he was a great neighbor and friend. He was deeply loved and adored by his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Sandy of Greenfield; sons, Ryan (Holli Poe) Smith of Wilkinson and Jeremy (Sarah Caudill) Smith of Greenfield; daughter, Angie (Joel) Buller of Greenfield and their mother, Brenda K Smith; children, Lydia (Ryan) Morris of Ft. Wayne, J. Matthew (Tiffany) Priest of Nashville, Tenn. and Katie Priest of Carmel; grandchildren, Kody, Abi, Trace, Elliott, Maddy and Cloe; sisters, MaryJane (Mike) Barnard of Westport and Nancy Dishner of Indianapolis; brothers, Tommy Zeigler of Indianapolis and Steven Zeigler of Greensburg; nieces and nephew, Clayton, Samantha, MaryBeth and Kayla.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Lila (May) Smith.
Visitation will be held at 4- 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2015, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 8, 2015, also at the mortuary. Pastor Russ Jarvis will be officiating. Burial will follow at McCray Cemetery in Wilkinson.
