Pamela “Pam” L. Giles, 55, of New Palestine, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 4, 2015, at her residence. She was born on Nov. 17, 1959, in Indianapolis, as the daughter of Scott and Peggy (Moore) Hobbs. She graduated from New Palestine High School in 1978. Pam married Tom Giles on April 25, 1981, in Indianapolis.
She worked for Southern Hancock Schools as a secretary for 12 years and then later went on to work for Edward Jones Investments as a branch office administrator for 7 years. Pam was a member of Brookville Road Community Church where she participated in the church choir. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, and watching birds. Pam was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
Pam is survived by her loving husband, Tom Giles of New Palestine; daughters, Carrie (Tom) Smith of Fountaintown and Shelby Giles of Minneapolis, Minn.; mother, Peggy Hobbs of Indianapolis; brother, Russ (Londa) Hobbs of Versailles, Ind.; sister, Susan (Jeff) Lantz of New Palestine; three grandchildren, Allison, Danielle, and Alexis; nieces and nephews, Jamie Simpson, Jeremy Lantz, Scott Hobbs, Amy Hobbs, and Emily Jones and five great nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her father, Scott Hobbs; sister, Beth A. Jones; brother-in-law, Stan Jones; nephew, Tyler Jones and niece, Lauren Jones.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2015, at Brookville Road Community Church, 7480 West US 52 New Palestine, IN 46163. A funeral service will take place immediately following the visitation at 7 p.m. Pastor Hubert Nolan will be officiating. Burial will take place at a later date at New Palestine Cemetery in New Palestine.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent directly to Hancock County Food Pantry, 741 1/2 South State Road 9, Greenfield, IN 46140 or envelopes will be available at the church.
