pumpkin carving competition held at the Ricks

GREENFIELD — The Greenfield Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a pumpkin carving contest for residents of all ages.

Residents are invited to carve a pumpkin and bring their masterpieces Oct. 10  to the H.J. Rick’s Centre for the Arts in downtown Greenfield, where winners will be picked. There is no fee to participate.

Pumpkins should be dropped off between 3 and 5 p.m., and they’ll be judged from 6 to 7 p.m. A people’s choice award will be given to one participant in the 13-and-younger category, and one will be selected among participants 14 and older.

Pumpkins should be picked up by 8 p.m. that evening.
