William E. Jackson

William E. Jackson, 77, of Greenfield, passed away peacefully on Sept. 27, 2015, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on Feb. 1, 1938, in Indianapolis, to the late Kenneth O. Jackson and Thelma L. (McCabe) Jackson.

William was a 1956 graduate of Greenfield High School and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1960 to 1964.

He was a long time employee at Naval Avionics (Raytheon) from 1964 until his retirement on April 25, 2003. He was a member of the Hancock Lodge No. 101 F & AM, and the American Legion Post 119. He loved to fish with his sons and their Minnesota fishing trips.

William is survived by, daughter, Deborah K. Jackson (fiance Tim Weaver) of Shelbyville; sons, Stephen E. (Roxanne) Jackson of Beech Grove, Mark A. (Karen) Jackson of Greenfield; brother, David L. Jackson; eight grandchildren and 13 great- grandchildren.

William is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Linda (Haywood) Jackson and one grandchild.

Friends may call 10 am – 1pm, Friday, Oct. 2, 2015, at Stillinger Family Funeral Home – Pasco Chapel, 1780 W. Main St, Greenfield. Funeral Service will be held immediately following the visitation at the funeral home. Burial with military rites will be presented by the Greenfield Veterans Honor Guard will follow the service at Park Cemetery, Greenfield.
