To the editor:

Your article, “Wage Crusade,” in your Aug. 21 edition was enlightening. Mr. Schellinger will have a hard road ahead of him. How can the state even mumble the words, “boosting wages,” when its economic platform is based on low stagnated wages? Yes, jobs are being created. The 17,000 new jobs in the next six years will certainly have some higher-paying tech jobs, but most will not be this type.

Sorry, I’m not buying the “wage crusade” title of the article. The state has achieved exactly what it wanted: low, stagnated wages, 38th-ranking nationally in per capita income and a social philosophy of “if you’re different, we can legally hate you.”
