Dance and Play class seeking young students

GREENFIELD — Dance East Ballet Company, 28 N. East St., Greenfield, is still accepting registration for Ms. Samantha’s Dance and Play class for children 18 months to 3 years.

The class meets Wednesdays from 4 to 4:30 p.m. and focuses on appropriate locomotor skills, creative movement, musical concepts such as rhythm and tempo and early self-expression through movement. Call 317-318-9266 or email info@dance eastballet.com.

Parks and Rec schedules fall Clay Creations camp

GREENFIELD — The Greenfield Parks and Recreation Department is offering a fall break art camp, Autumn Clay Creations, for children 6 years old and older from 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 5 to 9 at the Patricia Elmore Center Art Room, 280 N. Apple St.

Students work with multiple media including drawing, painting, clay and ceramics.

Demonstrations and group and individual guidance are provided. Children can create with no experience needed.

The program fee is $40 for Greenfield residents and $45 for non-residents. Register at greenfieldin.org.

Poet seeking contributions for project on Wabash River

INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana Poet Laureate George Kalamaras is seeking contributions from poets and non-poets for a new collaborative poem project to honor the Wabash River, a 503-mile-long river running through the state of Indiana.

Participants are invited to submit six lines of a poem to contribute to a poem about the Wabash River that is 411 lines long, which is the length of the river from the point where the river is dammed.
