GREENFIELD — This week, the Hancock County Council introduced an ordinance that would allow the county to borrow almost $2 million for maintenance and repairs at several county buildings.

County officials say the bond will help them address immediate maintenance needs at the jail, prosecutor’s office, courthouse and the courthouse annex.

A public hearing on the ordinance is planned for the council’s next meeting Oct. 14. After the public hearing, council members are expected to vote on approving the ordinance.
