Elizabeth S. “Liz” Shepherd, 74, of Wilkinson, passed away Friday, Sept. 4, 2015, at her home. She was born Dec. 4, 1940, in Albany, Ky., to the late Turner and Maylene (Cross) Melton
A former resident of Kennard, she had lived in Wilkinson for the past fifteen years. Liz was a 1960 graduate of Knightstown High School and had been employed by Western-Electric in Indianapolis for 18 years. She enjoyed being outdoors, loved her flower garden and collecting angels.
Survivors include her husband, of 51 years: Roger D. Shepherd; a daughter, Rhonda (Bret) Rector of Tampa, Fla.; two granddaughters, Ashley King of Canton, Mich. and Brittany Charles of Tampa, Fla.; two great- granddaughters, Brailey and Hayden; a brother, James (Betty) Melton of Mt Summit; two sisters, Janice (Robert) Schaeffer of Knightstown and Melinda (Ron) Grounds of Sulphur Springs; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Melton.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday, prior to the service on Friday, Sept. 11, 2015. Services will follow at held at 3 p.m. at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, Knightstown Chapel with Pastor Danny Shelton officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown.
