Robert M. Post, 88, of New Palestine, passed away Aug. 28, 2015. He was born Aug. 7, 1927, to Bert and Helen Post. He was born in Indianapolis and graduated from Tech High School.
He served in the Navy and attended Butler University. Bob was a Firefighter for the Indianapolis Fire Dept. for 22 years. He then worked for the Police and Fireman’s Insurance Assn. from 1975 until 1992. He also served on the Board of Directors of the PFIA.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in New Palestine and enjoyed being a Ham Radio Operator.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife, Carla; daughters, Kathy (Jim) Herren and Becky Patterson; step-children, Deborah (David) Winn, Mike (Gladys) Tarter and Steve (Pam) Tarter; grandchildren, Betsy, Chip (Lisa), Kirstie (Dane), Eric and Meghan and great-grandchildren, Ivy, Thomas, Bruce, Harlan and Wesley.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Bobby Jean.
Friends visited from 11 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, 2015, at Flanner and Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, 46229.
