June H. (Hall) Wicker

June H. (Hall) Wicker, 89, of Greenfield, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2015, at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation — Greenfield. She was born on March 27, 1926, in Whitesburg, Ky., as the daughter of George and Leona (Horn) Hall.

She graduated from Westland High School in 1945. June married James E. Wicker on June 15, 1946, in Charlottesville. She was a homemaker and loved to cook. June enjoyed camping, boating, and fishing.

June is survived by her husband, James Wicker of Greenfield; sons, David G. (Marilyn) Wicker and Daryl S. (Anjanette) Wicker both of Greenfield; sister-in-laws, Gleeda Hall of Sturgis, Ky. and Pat Hall of Greenfield; four grandchildren, David (Tonya) G. Wicker, Jr., Michelle (Mike) Hall, Stephanie Wicker and Melanie (Chad) Hilton; eight great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Leona Hall; six brothers, Elmer Hall, Edgar Hall, George Hall, William Hall, Charles Hall, and Alex Hall and four sisters, Lillian Wright, Edna Gibson, Mabel Hughes and May Austin.

Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 5, 2015, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will take place immediately following the visitation at 12:30 p.m. Burial will follow at Asbury Cemetery in Morristown.

Memorial contributions may be sent directly to Alzheimer’s Association, 50 E. 91st Street, Suite #100, Indianapolis, IN 46240 or envelopes will be available at the mortuary.

Families who want to include more information or include a photograph can purchase a custom obituary. Additional information may include memberships, employment, education and additional survivors.

The Daily Reporter prefers to take obituary information from funeral homes but also will accept information from families as long as the information can be verified with a funeral home before publication.

Payment is required before publication for custom obituaries purchased by individuals.
