Sarah Elizabeth Denecke, 35, of Greenfield, formerly of New Castle, passed away Friday, Aug. 28, 2015. She was born Jan. 21, 1980, in Indianapolis, and had resided in New Castle for several years.
She was a 1998 graduate of New Castle Chrysler High School. She earned an Associate Degree in Graphic Arts from Ivy Tech Community College in Muncie. She also attended IUPUI and IU at Bloomington.
She was an artist, and loved music, photography, traveling and attending music festivals. She also enjoyed dancing and serving at the Greenfield soup kitchen. She loved sharing time with her family and friends.
Left to cherish her loving memory include her mother, Mary Ann Reinhardt of Greenfield; her father, Alan G. Denecke of New Castle; several siblings, Mitzi Ann Cecil of Greenfield, Tonya Sue Schaekel of Fortville, Rachel Lynn of Gadsden, Ala., Ryan Joel Leer of Cocoa, Florida, Alexis Dyan Denecke of New Castle and Jessica Ann Koch of Greenfield; her grandmother, Joane Marie Kerkhof of Seymour; several aunts, uncles, cousins and nephews survive.
She was preceded in death by her stepmother, Laura Denecke; stepgrandparents, Cecil and Phyllis Powell; grandparents, Clarence Denecke, Betty Mae Scott and James M. Moreland.
The family will receive friends from 4 – 7 p.m. at the church. A celebration of life for Sarah will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2015, at The Highest Praise Church 211 West Park Avenue, Greenfield, IN 46140.
