Francis L. Shores, 94, of New Castle, died Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2015. He was born April 8, 1921. in Gaston, a son of the late Frank L. and Della (Groce) Shores.
Francis served in the Army during World War II, serving in India (Calcutta), China, and Burma, and was ranked Tech Sgt. at discharge. He retired from Warner Gear in Muncie in 1975.
He leaves to cherish his memory, three children, Gary Shores of Greenfield, Michael (Pam) Shores of Springboro, Ohio and Patricia (Wayne) Saunders of Greenfield; a stepson, Robert Cassity of New Castle; five grandchildren; three great- granddaughters; two great- grandsons and a sister, Lois (Melvin) Smith of Muncie.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mabel Shores in 1967; his second wife, Mildred Shores in 2002; a son, Tim Shores in 2008; a stepson, Bill Cassity in 2006; five brothers, and two sisters.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 31, 2015, at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2015, at South Memorial Drive Church of God with Pastor Chris Gammello officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory in Muncie.
