CUMBERLAND — Cumberland will conduct a public meeting on creating a “complete streets” policy at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Cumberland Town Hall, 11501 E. Washington St.
Health by Design and the Indiana State Department of Health Division of Nutrition and Physical Activity will explain what a complete street is, the benefits of complete streets and what a complete streets policy can do for Cumberland.
A nationwide movement launched by the National Complete Streets Coalition in 2004, complete streets policies integrate people and place in the planning, design, construction, operation and maintenance of transportation networks.
The workshop is a kickoff for the town’s initiative to adopt a complete streets policy.
