Mark Alan Wainscott, 67, passed away at his home in Carthage, on Sunday, Aug. 23, 2015. A lifelong resident of Rush County, he had been in failing health for the past two years.
Mark graduated from Arlington High School, Posey Township, in 1966 and was a veteran of the Air Force, having served in Vietnam from 1968-1970.
He was married to Theresa Onkst Wainscott, who survives. He is survived by four sisters, Karen Powell of Columbus, Michaela Dye (Dan) of Greenfield, Nancy Vessell (David) of Southport and Jennifer Logha (Marc) of Roswell, Ga.; a stepgrandson, Michael Onkst; three grandchildren, Jeremy, Jeff and Alisorra Arnett; five great- grandchildren; two nieces and four nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Richard L. and Alta L. Downey Wainscott. of Arlington, paternal grandparents, Ted and Thelma Wainscott of Shelbyville and maternal grandparents, Fern and Anna Downey of Arlington.
Friends are welcome to visit from1-2 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug 26, 2015, at Moster Mortuary in Rushville. Services will follow 2 p.m. at mortuary. John Wall will preside. Burial will be in Arlington East Hill Cemetery.
