Susanne B. Shields, 72, of Lake Ozark, Mo., departed this life Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2015, at Lakeside Meadows in Lake Ozark. Susanne was born Feb. 16, 1943, in Beach Grove, the daughter of Elmer and Mary (Harrison) Borgman.
She was united in marriage August 8, 1969, in Arlington, Va., to Alden Shields and together they shared 46 years of marriage at the time of her death.
Susanne was a graduate of Bethany College, Lindsborg, Kansas. Before retiring, Susanne taught in the public schools of Burlington, Kansas and Shawnee Mission School District in Overland Park, Kansas. Recently she taught Parish School at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church.
She was a loving and caring person who devoted her life to others, having cared for several children in the lake area. Susanne was a member of Our Lady of The Lake Catholic Church in Lake Ozark.
Susanne is survived by her husband, Alden Shields; sons, Aaron Shields of Kansas City, Mo. and Jesse Shields of Lake Ozark, Mo.; brother, Paul (Millie) Borgman, along with several other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Mary Borgman.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 22, 2015, at Our Lady of The Lake Catholic Church in Lake Ozark, Missouri. Interment will be in Lake Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Osage Beach, Missouri.
Memorial donations are suggested to Our Lady of The Lake Catholic Church Education Fund.
